what kind of excercise do pomskies need?

Pomskies, being a delightful blend of Pomeranian and Siberian Husky, thrive on a mix of aerobic exercise and mental stimulation. While each Pomsky is unique, here are some exercise ideas to keep them happy and healthy:

  1. Walking: Regular walks are an excellent low-impact exercise option for Pomskies. Aim for at least 30 minutes to an hour of walking per day. Splitting this time into shorter sessions can be beneficial.
  2. Fetch: Pomskies love chasing balls, sticks, or Frisbees. A game of fetch provides both physical and mental exercise.
  3. Hide-and-Seek: Turn indoor playtime into a fun activity. Hide and let your Pomsky find you – reward with treats!
  4. Hiking: Explore nature together! Take your Pomsky on hiking trails with moderate terrain. They’ll love the adventure and exercise.
  5. Swimming: If you have access to a safe swimming area, take your Pomsky for a swim. Swimming is gentle on joints and provides a full-body workout. [Our pups LOVE water

*At Mt. Hood Pomskies, we do not endorse dog park gatherings due to the potential risk of aggressive dogs or uninformed owners, which can lead to unpredictable outcomes. However, we do support play dates and Pomsky meetups that are well-organized and designed with safety in mind.*

Remember to start slow, gradually increase the intensity, and monitor your Pomsky’s behavior during exercise. Always provide plenty of water and shade to prevent dehydration.

Remember, a happy Pomsky is one that gets both physical and mental stimulation! πŸΎπŸƒ‍♀️

Tell me more about the parents in the breeding program.

Certainly! Our Mt. Hood Pomskies most of our parents are F3 Pomskies, which means they have a pomsky parents on both sides. We have one female who is a F1X pomsky as she has alaskan klee klai and american eskimo in her. These generations have a fascinating lineage, and we take pride in their health, temperament, and unique characteristics. These deflightful Pomskies live with us as cherished members of our family. 🐾❀️

Our mothers in our breeding program are typically bred once a year and are only bred for 5 litters or the age of 7 which ever comes first. There are exclusions to this like if the pregnancy has only one/two puppies that may not be counted as a litter depending on certain factors. Our females are never over bred, the health and well being of our dogs is top priority, these dogs are not just breeding dogs, they are our family. They are our kids and they will always come first before any puppy or sell of one.
